Crown Jewel Club has a wide range of volunteer opportunities. Whether you would like to be a hands-on helper in the classroom, or someone behind the scenes, we have many opportunities from which to choose. No matter how much time you can give, you’ll find an opportunity that’s right for you.

 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Classroom Coordinator

  • DESCRIPTION: The main functions of this position are to support the Teacher and oversee all aspects of each class.
  • TIME REQUIREMENTS: 4-6 hours per week for each seven week session.
  • EXPECTATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS: Organization skills, project management skills, ability to meet deadlines and work well with others.
In-Class Volunteer
  • DESCRIPTION: The main function of this position is support the Teacher and Classroom Coordinator during the class session. The in-class volunteer will interact with students during the class as well as help create an atmosphere conducive to learning, assist with classroom set-up and clean-up. Also be available to assist with the “Afternoon Tea” event.
  • TIME REQUIREMENTS: 3.5 hours per week. Classes are conducted one day a week, for seven weeks, from 1:00pm to 3:30pm.
  • DESIRED COMPETENCIES: The selected candidate will be warm and compassionate, understand the value of good manners, and be willing to help students realize their own self-worth and potential.

Tea Volunteers

Hours - 4 ½ hours  on Tea Afternoon

Assist the Classroom coordinator and help set up the classroom for the afternoon Tea.  Specifics include setting out tablecloths, setting the table, helping serve the food and tea and assist in clean up.

 


DEVELOPMENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Grant Researcher

  • DESCRIPTION: The main function of this position is to research possible grants for which Crown Jewel Club would be eligible.
  • TIME REQUIREMENTS: 3-6 hours per week as needed.
  • EXPECTATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS: Project management skills, internet research, organization skills.
Grant Writer
  • DESCRIPTION: Volunteers will fill out the preliminary grant forms and applications. Experience grant writers may write grants through completion.
  • TIME REQUIREMENTS: 3-6 hours per week as needed.
  • EXPECTATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS: Writing skills, ability to meet deadlines.

 

 

SPECIAL EVENTS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Special Events

  • DESCRIPTION: Volunteers may assist with planning and execution of special events throughout the year including, but not limited to the annual Jewels & Jesters fundraiser, End of the Year Parties, Volunteer Events, and other fundraising activities.
  • TIME REQUIREMENTS: 2-4 hours per week as needed.
  • EXPECTATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS: Organization skills, project management skills, ability to work well with others, ability to meet deadlines.
